Ms Katrina Hodgkinson to the Minister for Transport, and Minister for Roads—

(1) Why after several years of providing a valuable service to Primary Producers by holding current declaration forms, has the Yass Motor Registry ceased this practice?
(2) As this valuable service was provided at no cost to the RTA will you act to have it reinstated?

(1) I am advised that the practice of holding signed declaration forms for a 12 month period, as previously operated in Yass Motor Registry, exposed the RTA to the risk of granting concessions where eligibility had ceased.
(2) It is important to ensure uniformity and equity of service to all customers of the RTA and all groups including pensioners and Primary Producers are required to provide current proof of their eligibility for concessions.
