Description	This series is an artificial one, created for convenience, and comprising all the extant miscellaneous records relating to cataloguing practice in the Parliamentary Library in the first half of the twentieth century. They are comprised of lists of subject headings, cross-references, and working papers relating to the printed catalogues.

Item	Description

1	Notes and Cross References, n.d. (c. 1910 - 1920). This slim volume is arranged alphabetically and lists subject headings with cross references. A typed sheet on 'Forms of Catalogue Entry' n.d. (c. 1927) is enclosed.
2	Working Papers for a Printed Catalogue, n.d. (c. 1927). This file is comprised of clippings from printed catalogues pasted down in alphabetical order on loose sheets, with manuscript and typed additions and annotations.
3	Working Papers for a Printed Catalogue, 1933 - 1939. This file is comprised of manuscript and typed lists of books, arranged in alphabetical order in subject bundles. It includes a corrected proof copy of a 'List of Additions to the Library July 1932 - June 1934'.
4	'Public Library of New South Wales Subject Headings New and Revised. October 1950 - December 1956'. Roneoed alphabetical list.
