| Description | In 1872 the Treasury introduced a new system of accounting of 'advances', that is, public money advanced from the Treasury to be spent on the public service. This volume registers the advances and payments from the Treasury for this period. It gives the following information for Advances and Payments: date; services (eg salaries and contingencies); and amount. It gives the following information for Adjustments: Time allowed for adjustment; when the vouchers were sent to the Auditor-General; and remarks (eg the insurance of books). |
