The Select Committee into the High Level of First Nations People in Custody and Oversight and Review of Deaths in Custody was established on 17 June 2020. 

 

First Nations people are advised that this web page may contain reference to people who have passed away.

 

Parties to the inquiry are advised that the focus of this inquiry is on the operations and functions of the oversight bodies tasked with reviewing deaths in custody in New South Wales. The committee is not in a position to directly review individual cases.
